Dalić pointed out that the goal of the team is to reach the knockout stage, but emphasized that the squad will approach the tournament with calm and composure, not putting undue pressure on themselves.
“Our goal is to advance from the group, but we must approach the World Cup with peace in our hearts and without putting pressure on ourselves,” said Zlatko Dalić. “We have a great team, a quality squad, and we know that in this environment — with 48 teams and strong opponents - matches can be tough. But the most important thing is our mindset and unity. We have to be calm and confident in what we do.”
Dalić also highlighted Croatia’s opponents in the group, acknowledging their qualities:
“England is obviously a very strong team with top players, and we know what they can do. Panama and Ghana are teams with their own style, physicality and motivation. All three opponents have quality and we must approach our matches with full respect and the right strategy.”
The head coach concluded by emphasizing the work the team has done in recent years:
“We have been preparing for this tournament for a long time, and we know what football means to Croatians. We must go out there with heart, discipline and focus. We want to make our fans proud, and we are ready to fight for every ball and every match.”
